- At the meeting the lectures will cover a number of topics. The topics range from fundamental aspects of folding to their role in function. Topics that will be covered include:
- Basic physics of folding
- Folding of multi-domain proteins
- Single molecule folding
- Advanced Fluorescence and NMR methods
- Linkage between folding and function
- Common themes in folding families
- USD 150 for participants applying from institutions outside India
- INR 2500/- for participants applying from institutions within India
- INR 5000/- for scientists applying from companies within India
- Applications are invited from graduate students, post-doctoral fellows and junior faculty interested in the topic of the symposium.
- All participants must submit a CV and an abstract of their work on protein folding to proteinfolding2012 at ncbs.res.in. Selected participants will be notified by email and will be required to submit a registration fee by banker’s draft.

Poster presentation:
Selected applicants will be required to present a poster on a current research project. Poster specifications will be sent by email at a later date.
Travel:Participants will be responsible for their own travel to Bangalore.
Visa:All foreign nationals traveling to India are required to possess a valid passport of their country and a valid Indian Visa issued by the Indian Embassy or Indian Consular office in their country. Please apply for a “conference visa”. Selected applicants will be supplied with an invitation letter and relevant approvals which must be submitted with the Visa Application form. Visa authorization times are variable so it is best to apply at least 45 days in advance of your travel date. Air tickets must be booked only after the visa is issued.
Sightseeing:A sightseeing trip of one night and two days can be organized to close by historical places like Belur, Hale bid, Shravanbelagola, and Mysore after the meeting on October 18th and 19th, departing October 18th early morning and arriving Bangalore on October 19th evening by about 8.00pm. Tour cost would be Rs. 9350/-per person on single occupancy and Rs. 6200/-per person on twin sharing.
