Spain RECOMB 2012: 16th International Conference on Research in Computational Molecular Biology

The 16th International Conference on Research in Computational Molecular Biology (RECOMB 2012) will be held in Barcelona on April 21-24, 2012. RECOMB 2012 will provide a general forum for disseminating the latest research in bioinformatics and computational biology. As a multidisciplinary conference, it brings together academic and industrial scientists from molecular biology, medicine, computer science, mathematics, and statistics. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
-Molecular sequence analysis;
-Recognition of genes and regulatory elements;
-Molecular evolution;
-Gene expression ;
-Biological networks;
-Sequencing and genotyping technologies;
-Genomics;
-Metagenomics;
-Population, statistical genetics;
-Systems biology;
-Imaging;
-Computational proteomics;
-Molecular structural biology;
Participants will enjoy a full agenda of keynote talks, paper presentations (original unpublished work and recently published developments) and poster sessions.

Before RECOMB2012, on 19 and 20 April 2012, the Second Annual RECOMB Satellite Workshop on Massively Parallel Sequencing (RECOMB-seq) will take place, with the goal to bring together the community of scientists working on methods for massively parallel sequencing.

The event also overlaps with Sant Jordi (Saint Georges), on April 23, the patron of Catalonia, and one of the most important civic holidays in the country.
