International Conference on Biotechnology : Emerging Trends at Chaudhary Devi Lal University

On behalf of the local organizing committee of ICB - 2012, it is our great honor and pleasure to invite you to the International Conference on Biotechnology: Emerging Trends (ICB-2012), which will be held from September 18 to 20, 2012 in Sirsa. The mission of the ICB – 2012 is to promote R&D in all aspects of basic and applied biotechnology. Our society is facing unprecedented challenges including resources shortage, environmental deterioration, biodiversity loss, and economic and social imbalances. Nine theme areas covering all aspects of biotechnology will be arranged, including :
  1. Agricultural and Food Biotechnology
  2. Microbial Biotechnology
  3. Pharmaceutical Biotechnology
  4. Biosensors and Nanobiotechnology
  5. Environmental Biotechnology
  6. Animal Biotechnology
  7. Proteomics, Genomics, Metabolomics and Bioinformatics and
  8. Bioethics & IPR.
ICB - 2012 will be designed to offer a unique opportunity not only to take a critical assessment of the milestone achievements in biotechnology but more significantly, to discuss how biotechnology can contribute to global sustainability in the 21st century. The program will feature contributions from both established and young scientists and engineers, and will provide a platform for representatives from all over the world. ICB - 2012 will not only be a time for thought-provoking discussions, but also a time to enjoy India. Social evenings will feature unique Rajasthani and Punjabi cultures.
We are confident that this event will bring together scientists, engineers, business leaders and government officials to foster and enhance collaborative contacts, and to exchange information in the many interdisciplinary areas of modern biotechnology. We look forward to welcoming you to Sirsa in September 2012!

  • Submission of full length paper : 16.08.12

Call for Abstracts :
  • Original contributions of unpublished research work highlighting the details of results and scope for discussion to understand the work are invited to be presented as oral/posters.
  • The participants are requested to submit the abstract as soft copy to the Convener through e-mail (icbsirsa2012@gmail.com).
  • The abstract should not exceed 250 words. The abstract must be submitted in following Format:
    • Abstract title (Times New Roman /12 pt/bold/single line spacing/maximum 2 lines)
    • Authors Name(s) (Times New Roman /11 pt/italic/presenting author underlined)
    • Affiliation (Times New Roman /10 pt/italic/single line spacing)
    • Text of the abstract (Times New Roman /12 pt/normal/single line spacing/left and right justification). 
Selected abstracts will be considered for oral presentations. Full length papers will be invited after peer review of the submitted abstract for publishing in an edited book which will be released during the conference.
