4th Nordic Wood Biorefinery Conference - Finland

The NWBC 2012 will address topical issues related to wood-based biorefining. The conference programme is divided into three full day sessions: Policies & innovation, industry movements, and R&D highlights.

The “Policies & innovation” session will tackle issues such as the up-coming 8th Framework Programme of the European Commission, GMO related to wood biorefining, and selected important policy issues.

The “Industry movements” session will cover numerous recent near-commercial and commercial wood biorefinery activities presented by the respective industry representatives. Updates on what has happened since the 3rd NWBC conference in Stockholm in March 2011 will be discussed. Within this session a reflection on the soon to be announced NER300 funding decisions and their implication for the wood biorefinery field will also be given.

The “R&D highlights” session will collect the most important, new R&D developments from the universities and research organisations around the world. The topics will thus range from wood fractionation to biomaterial application research.
