a. Current computational modeling techniques for the quantitative investigation of how biological systems respond to perturbations at the cellular level
b. Common motifs in signal transduction and gene regulatory networks that underlie systems-level cellular behaviors including homeostasis, adaptation, threshold response, binary and irreversible cell fate decisions, and oscillatory behaviors
c. To use these techniques to develop computational tools for understanding and predicting nonlinear dose response behaviors for drug and chemical entities

e. Cellular homeostasis, stress response and adaptation
f. Stochastic gene expression, its biological function, and implication for dose response
g. Exercises on the Berkeley Madonna® software program accompanying each lecture
