Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad
WORKSHOP ON SYSTEMS BIOLOGY (WSB'13)
Funded by: Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, India
Scope of the Workshop
With latest developments in technology vast amount
of various type of biological information is being made available at an
affordable cost. Consequently, there is now a growing demand for
utilizing such information both in general terms as well as in
personalized medicine. Systems Biology, an emerging field in applied
biomedical and Biological sciences,
is now addressing the issue of painting a holistic picture at system
level (such as at the level of cell, tissue of organism itself).
Systems Biology is an interdisciplinary field that encompasses advances from Biotechnology, Bioinformatics,
Genetics, Pharmacy, various fields in Computer Science such as Soft
Computing, Graph Theory, Simulation and Data Mining. Such an
understanding can then be applied to finding how various biological
components work together to create and sustain a working System. We are
organizing a workshop in this exciting area to provide hands-on
experience to interested participants from academia and industry in a
few aspects related to the upcoming area of System Biology.
Topics for Hands-on Experience
Microarray Data Analysis
Clustering and Classification in Bioinformatics
Bayesian Belief Networks and Genetic Networks
